Over the past week we have seen a lot going on inside the world of Google Places. Customers listings are pending for no reason, clients are losing reviews and the red pin markers have gone grey. Local SEO is becoming the new SEO with increased geo targeted keyword searches and with ip targeting more and more end users on relying on Google Places. Call volume for local business is very strong when ranking in the 1st page of Google Places results.
We are waiting for what is to come next and still researching the new look. User feedback is also a new addition that has been brought back from the past. Google wants user feedback to get through the mess. Review spam filters are also on the horizon we believe from our research. Are we going to see something similar to Yelp or will Google do something different.
